Description: | The end of the noughties marked the construction start of one of the largest urban development projects in Europe – the Seestadt Aspern in the north of Vienna. A sustainable city quarter is developing there on 240 hectares, which will be capable of housing 40.000 people in the course of 20 years. A central, 5-hectare lake is surrounded by the Seestadt´s qualities: Living, Working, Urbanity and Recreation. The lake is in immediate proximity to the HoHo Wien, which is going to be opened in 2018 as the largest wooden building in the world. This landmark project for sustainability and ecological construction is developed and executed by cetus Baudevelopment GmbH and Handler Bau GmbH. These two parties were also responsible for the erection of the ÖGNB-certified office building Seeparkcampus West. It offers about 12,000 sqm of office areas for about 330 workplaces, extended by a public customer service center of the Vienna City Administration on the ground floor. Handler Bau, which leads the Austrian market in sustainable hybrid wood construction, contracted Lindner GmbH with extensive interior fit-out works of the Seeparkcampus West. Being a specialist for dry construction works, Lindner was not only responsible for wall claddings, but also fitted in-house heated and chilled ceilings as well as the Cradle to Cradle Certified® raised floor system NORTEC, which is also recommend in regard of construction biology, and the hollow floor system CAVOPEX. |
